ORGANIZERS

Jesse Russell is the co-founder and editor of Dane101.com, the preeminent online publication for issues that shape Madison and Dane County. His extensive coverage and support of the local music scene is unrivaled, and he has produced numerous shows and events both in Madison and the Northeast. Wielding a journalism degree from the University of Connecticut, he spends his days as a reporter for the Workers Independent News - a nationally syndicated news program heard locally on WORT/FM 89.9.

Bessie Cherry cut her teeth in the music industry by spending a decade in MA at Club Helsinki, known to artists and agents alike as "the little club that could." Upon moving to Madison, she spent over a year doing booking and promotions for Cafe Montmartre, giving local bands a space to play while shaking up the local scene with a diverse roster of national (and international acts) like Amiina, Hem, and Great Lake Swimmers. She currently enjoys a day job at Broadcast Interactive Media and still assists in event promotion at various venues around the city.

Jamie Hanson is a Philly born and bred UW grad student who loves track bikes, studies little kid's brains, and co-founded the university's Madison Pop Fest. If you've ever been to Club 770 or the Rathskeller for an on-the-cusp indie act, chances are Jamie booked it. He was responsible for everything from Girl Talk to Deerhoof - and most notably for proposing the Arcade Fire to the WUD Music Committee, shortly before the arrival of "Funeral", a proposal that was promptly voted down by the committee.

Wyndham Manning is Florida born and bred with roots in the deep South. He was recently elected to the Dane County Board of Supervisors representing District Five, currently books bands for Middleton's own SRO Artists, and is the former director of the WUD Music committee. He is enthusiastic about jam bands and is prone to punch friends in the face when under the influence of bands like the Hold Steady, My Morning Jacket and the Drive By Truckers.

Kyle Pfister embodies the DIY aesthetic, but with an oddly refined artistic reverence. After a long day of fighting corporate tobacco, he moonlights as the writer of the local music blog JustSayinIsAll.com. An amateur promoter himself, he books shows in the forgotten churches and jazz clubs across town. Whereas when most want to discover new music, they go to a small club, Kyle has the uncanny ability of discovering music before it leaves the comfort of close friends and living rooms. His appreciation of art is so genuine that it is almost an art of its own.
